EYE ON THE SKY: VENUS IN AQUARIUS DEC 28-JAN. 27TH
Venus transits into Aquarius on the afternoon of Dec. 28th and stays there until late January. It is an afflicted transit as it moves toward Ketu into Jan. 7th with an exact aspect and will be in the same sign as Mars although they are far enough apart as to not cause huge problems.
When Venus is afflicted in Aquarius, it can create delays or setbacks in relationships, love for lost causes, unconventional relationships, reproductive complications, sexual imbalances and dysfunctional partners. If you have this in your natal chart or have Venus conjunct Ketu or Mars in your natal chart or are running a Venus/Rahu or Venus/Ketu or Venus/Mars period or some combination like that you might feel this transit more intensely.
Venus will transit within 3 degrees of Ketu the south node, the fiery and spiritual monkish planet, Jan. 3-10th. If you were born with this combination, it can create unresolved past life relationships that are unhappy or painful. You may attract spiritual or emotional partners with a lot of baggage and you may change partners frequently or may reject partners for fear of being rejected yourself.  If you are male, you may choose women are are unconventional and that society may reject from another class, race or religion or gender orientation causing problems.  In any case if you have this signature in your natal chart it may bring up unorthodox and complicated relationships and with Mars in Aquarius often, there may be a lot of passion or quarrels. If you are a revolving door relationship person, use this month to go deeper and hang in there instead of rejecting.
For Libra rising, the Ketu transit may foster deep spiritual experiences or romances or adventures as it is a 5th house transit of the chart lord. For Taurus rising, it will bring up unexpected problems in the workplace. Those running a Venus maha dasha will feel it more strongly. Aries rising will benefit from income and Scorpio rising may have expenditures around the home and vehicles and more domestic quarrels. Pisces rising may have passionate sexual experiences while Cancer rising may have big problems with deep karmic issues from the past. Aquarius rising will feel a bit lighter for having the transit of a good friend visiting and creating deeper connections and may increase the desire for new and unconventional clothes. Geminis will have deep spiritual experiences or go on luxury trips to foreign lands and Virgos will have to watch illness related to the reproductive area, kidneys or bladder or pancreas. Again all of this is very individual to the larger cycles that you are running.
Venus moving toward Mars will increases passion and sexuality but it can lead to heated discussions and quarreling so be careful how you pick your fights. The exact conjunction and intensity will not be felt until the first week of Feb. when they are 4-5 degrees together in Pisces but they will not be conjunct because Venus will be slowing down to go retrograde in Pisces and Mars will move away into Aries. Venus is the symbol or karaka for vehicles and Mars afflictions can lead to accidents for Cancer rising and Aquarius rising so drive carefully if you are in a vulnerable period.
Aquarius is a vata or air sign so the earthy solidity of Capricorn will be dislodged. The good news is that Venus will be exalted in Pisces from late January to late May because of retrograde activity there that we last saw in 2009. This will be a sweet time for romance and relationship in general but will treat different signs in different ways. More on this next month.
