EYE ON THE SKY: SUN EXALTED IN ARIES–GREAT LEADERSHIP OR OVERBEARING POWER
Sun moves into Aries, April 13th and it is a bit weak in transition today on April 12th as it moves toward its highest point of exaltation into April 23rd. Exalted planets are misinterpreted often and my personal feeling is that they have too much power and do exaggerated actions that are often out of balance. It also depends what rising sign you are for an impact but if you are born between April 13-May 14th, you have the exalted Sun in your natal chart.
Rahu is the only planet afflicting the Sun in this transit exactly into April 21st and having an influence April 18th-April 24th. This part of the transit can bring out being too irritable, bossy, authoritative and dogmatic and acting too rashly and getting exhausted and can increase overheating. If you are a fire sign and have a lot fire energy, stay calm with coconut water and raw foods and avoid spicy foods.
Still most of the transit is in good shape with increasing leadership, courage, ambition, sharp thinking, achievement, joy, strong fathering and innovation. Leos, Scorpios, Sagittarius and Cancer rising and moon signs probably do best with the transit while Taurus rising and Libras and Virgo rising and moon signs will have more problems with it. Still the Sun represents the Divine and Easter Sunday this year with the exalted Sun on Sunday will be packed with Divine power and grace from this transit.
Still I think the Sun in Aries will pick a lot of self-starting energy and so a good time to do projects and get a lot done. Sun will be in the constellation of Ashwini (Aries 0-13.20) April 13-26 which is know in modern astronomy as Alpha-Arietes and Beta-Arietes near the bright star of Andromeda between March 2-April 1st. The symbol for Ashwini is a horse’s head representing a dauntless spirit of adventure and a head-strong nature. This transit usually fosters self-starters and energy to complete projects. It is also a very healing constellation and so there will be more energy for healing. The ruling deities are the Ashwin twins who ride in a golden chariot and shower healing energy down to the earth plane. They are the “Physicians of the Gods”. This is a nakshatra of initiation, revitalization and transformational healing. The ruling planet is Ketu (South Node of the Moon), which gives a mystical and mysterious bent to their life journey.
The first part of the transit is through Aries 0-3 degrees (April 13-15 ) and particularly between 0.00-0.48 is through the gandanta or karmic knot 0n April 13th . There is underlying strength to work out new beginnings in a new cycle of growth initiated by moving into the start of the zodiac. The energy is there to untie deep karmic knots but frustrations will still come up strongly and given all the changes going on from the first week of March, there will be plenty to work on and heal. The Sun is too powerful here and Leo rising people or Aries may be too overbearing and burn others up. My exalted Sun friends who are Leo are way too intense to connect to.
The ruling constellation of Ashwini is Ketu spurring you into new spiritual growth and development but the first few weeks, Ketu is still pretty afflicted in Rahu’s constellation and being aspected by Saturn within a few degrees so it is not helpful and will move soon into Dhanishta constellation on April 14th in the mean node system and then later in the month in the true node system on April 27th. We will write more about this later.
So go forth in action with new energy but just avoid being too reckless mid-month with the Rahu affliction.
