EYE ON THE SKY: SUN MOVING TOWARD LEO AND CONJUNCT RAHU
The Sun today gets ready to move into Leo at 14:16 pm EDT and moves toward conjunction with Rahu. The Sun is in the deepest gandanta point located between 29.20-0.40 and in election astrology and Muhurtha, it is thought today/Thursday is not an auspicious day to start new events.
The Cancer gandanta (Cancer 29.20-29.59) in the constellation of Hyrda (Ashlesha, Cancer 16.40-29.59) is a place where the toxins of the past are accumulating in a big knot that is difficult to untie. Deep unconscious patterns and difficult problems seem to arise that seem daunting and filled with regrets. Remember you have the power of free will in the present moment to move through into new light and do not have to live in the shadows and mistakes of the past. Let them go. They seem tangled and difficult to deal with but you are strong enough to get through them.
The Leo gandanta ( Leo 0.00-0.40) in the constellation of Regulus (Magha, Leo 0.00-13.20) is more material and the soul is troubled in its decision to move forward now into a more successful material life and begin a material journey through the more tamasic constellations that dominate into Dec. 15th which are more interested in money and security. The Sun going into Leo this afternoon will be exalted in the navamsha and feel new power and confidence in leadership to move forward now but can be a bit selfish.
The problems is that the Sun will move toward conjunction with Rahu today which is the planet that causes eclipses. The Sun;s divinity and status is eclipsed and there is an identity crisis in not being able to see ones Divine nature. This continues into the Solar eclipse on Monday.  The Sun/Rahu conjunction can create world success and position but can lead to fear of failure and in ability to take on new power. The key is to embrace your desire for success and status and not let nagging internal fears block you.
The darker energy of the Sun may come out the next week with the eclipse and the connection to Rahu. One may become bossy, hot-tempered, impatient, stubborn, dominant, self-centered and selfish. Sun rules the heart and so take care not to get over-heated in arguments and moderate your exercise and not get over-heated. If you have heart problems, go easy and do what you know you need to do to take care of your heart.
This is a time to be aware of your dark side and do self-less service and not go for being at the center of attention. You may feel like you are not being praised enough so praise yourself. Who cares what others think. If you do not look yourself in the mirror every night and tell yourself how great you are, how can you expect others to do so? Praise starts with Self-Praise.
Leos of course will have the most difficult time with this transition but since the Sun is so innate to all of us, it is a big transition for everyone. Eventually the Sun will get stronger by August 29th as it gets out of the eclipsed constellation of Magha (Leo 0-13.20) but it is a great time to work on your Divinity. Can you rise up from the need for praise and let go of ego or will you get dragged down by Rahu into self-aggrandizement.?  The key the next 10 days will be to help others and not need praise or attention. You are great and you have to acknowledge yourself and then others will do so. Look to the mirror like our cover photo and see the great Royal soul that you are. In Christian mythology, the Lion is the representative the Divine king. Rise up out of the shadows of the eclipse and move toward deeper spirituality and letting go of the past. You are great in your own Divinity. Do not get lost in small ego. Jai Guru Dev. Victory to the Big Mind and let go of the little ego that wants to keep us chained to the material world.
