EYE ON THE SKY: VENUS IN MRIGISHIRA/ORION: APRIL 28-MAY 23, 2020; JULY 23-AUGUST 6TH, 2020.
Venus moved into the constellation of Orion, the warrior of the winter sky on Tuesday, April 28th (Taurus 23.20-Gemini 6.40). Its symbol is the deer and there were 5 in my backyard this morning staring at me this morning. Mrigishira is formed by three faint stars at the head of the constellation of Orion. The constellation is very spiritual and promotes moksha and spiritual liberation and inspires people to study religion and philosophy. The shakti of Mrigishira is the “power to give fulfillment” so a good time to rub your genie’s lamp and ask for a boon.
Venus is passionate in this constellation where intellectual searching and deep spiritual wisdom is supported but also great passion. is very strong . Still in the Taurus section Venus struggles with wanting its material comforts. In the first pada (April 28-May 6th), Venus is creative and diplomatic whereas the 2nd pada (Virgo, May 6th-May 28th), Venus can be more manipulative, possessive and critical. There is a conflict between wanting all the comforts of life and rejecting them at the same time. Venus goes retrograde in this pada on May 13th so it will have a long stay here. Taurus and Libra rising will have to stay more rested and be aware of this more difficult energy for relationships and being nit-picky and to critical in May.
Life is always a coexistence of opposites as the deer symbol brings out the timid, light and fragile wandering qualities of this constellation which seem opposed to the warrior nature of Mars but in this sense, the greatest spiritual warrior heroes of the Ramayana and Gita, Hanuman and Arjuna, embody the constellation’s deep quest for liberation and getting to the truth of the matter. If your Sun, Moon or rising sign is in this constellation, it gives you a deep yearning for something greater in your life.
The deity of the constellation is Soma, connected to the Moon and the life and vital subtle forces that are created to manifest the physiological components of enlightenment. This constellation beckons one toward moksha and during these troubledtimes it will lead to deep spiritual searching by many when people’s jobs and material values are torn apart and it is awake call to remember why we are here.
Mars is strong in the sky in Capricorn during the first part of this transit so Venus will channel some of its highest energies for service for mankind and bring a passion for this.
