VENUS IN CAPRICORN
Venus moved into Capricorn on Wednesday, Jan. 27th  and stays there until Feb. 20th.   It has entered a friends’ sign of Saturn but Capricorn is a complex sign and is the natural 10th sign of the zodiac and connected to business and the natural need of Saturn for security. Capricorns often have great organizing power, desires success, fame and is a bit of reclusive energy.
In general, Venus in Capricorn showers material pleasure on its friend Saturn. If you have this position in your natal chart (like I do), it can create loyal and mature love, conventional marriage and supports the underdog and the poor. When it is afflicted, it may create sexual coldness, fascination with death, reproductive problems or emotional flatness.
The combination of Venus being in Saturn’s sign creates stability in relationships, strong technical abilities in business, support oils, iron, steel and antiques and older people. I often think the Venus/Saturn connection is one of creating beautiful infrastructure to support our aesthetic sense and I think of the murals and mosaics that were engineered into the new highway walls in Phoenix that add beauty to the concrete commute.
On a physical level, this transit supports attention to the body, to having the discipline to start that diet and supports activity like massage, which combines the sensuous nature of Venus with the solid grounding of the needs of the body. This is a good month to find a good massage therapist, take an exercise class that sculpts your body or to shop for new clothes. Building a beautiful new business, website or publishing a book seems like a perfect activity this month for this transit as Venus there will be support from superiors and authorities.
Venus in Capricorn is very afflicted this year as it moves toward conjunction with Pluto on Jan. 28th and then with a conjunction with Saturn on Feb. 6th and then conjunct Jupiter on Feb. 11th and then conjunct a retrograde Mercury on Feb. 13th and goes into combustion on Feb. 13-May 3rd and then gets trined by Rahu on Feb 15th in the true node system. It is also conjunct the Moon on Feb. 10th.
Venus conjunct Pluto:Â Jan. 28th:Â This transit can deep emotional connections but also bring out a need for deep transformation for Libra and Taurus rising and may create intensity in relationship, power struggle with partners and and the expression of deep-seated anger. It is luckily a quick transit but can seem very intense so watch out for angry flare-ups.
Venus conjunct Saturn: Feb. 6th: This may create some restraint in expressing love and affection if you are ruled by Taurus or Libra and you may be suddenly attracted to older partners. You may find difficulties with love relationships that cause deep-seat suffering and if you are lucky and running a Saturn/Venus or Venus/Saturn dashas, you may find a new and long-lasting relationship with an older partner that may go the distance.
Venus conjunct Jupiter: Feb. 11th: While this transit always feels good and creates a deep sense of expansion of love, it can lead to over-indulging in sweets and sexual activity and overspending.  This transit requires self-discipline so stay off the web for shopping and avoid that extra piece of cheesecake. This combination can create warm and expansive relationship energy and often can be a signature for a wedding if the dasha period matched like Venus/Jupiter or Jupiter/Venus.
Venus conjunct Mercury: Feb. 13th: This is always a wonderful connection for writing poetry or creating songs or fiction and with Mercury retrograde, writing may flow from a deep intuitive level. There can be a lot of sexual energy coming up with transit although the presence of Saturn here and in the sign of Capricorn may lead to restriction of desires and their expression.
Venus trined by Rahu: Feb. 15th but having a sphere of influence Feb. 13-17th.
Venus/Rahu trines create strong sexual and sensual desires. For a man it could create a strong desire for sexual conquest. It can also create fear around losing a relationship and some possessiveness and could suddenly bring up a desire to get married if you are running a Venus/Rahu or Rahu/Venus dasha.
