EYE ON THE SKY: ASTRO-WEATHER JULY 5-12TH
It has been brutal the last few weeks with the Mars/Saturn opposition, the Sun in Ardra (Gemini 6.40-20), and Uranus squaring Mars between Aries/Cancer. Things get a bit lighter as the Sun moves into Jupiter’s constellation of Purnavasu (Gemini 20-Cancer 3.20) July 6-19th and that will increase optimism. Mars is exalted in the D9 chart this week until July 9th in Capricorn navamsha (Cancer 20-23.20) bringing a bit of temporary energy to a tiring month and it is slowly moving away from Saturn and Uranus. Mercury goes into its own sign of Gemini, July 7-July 25th and that will help communications and writing and technology and intellectual inquiry and Venus stays in Cancer until July 17th when it at least has some softness even if she is not happy in the constellation of Ashlesha (Cancer 16.40-29.59) and is moving toward a frisky Mars into July 13th where the battle of the sexes will be highlighted around July 12-14th.
The Sun moves into the constellation of Punarvasu (Gemini 20-Cancer 3.20) on July 6th and Western astrologers know this as Castor and Pollux, the beloved twins in Western astronomy.
Punarvasu means “the return of the light” and has the divine ability to bring spiritual light into darkness and it reflects purity, satya (truth), and strong moral values. It’s shakti or power is “the ability to gain wealth or abundance”. The main deity is Aditi, the Cosmic Mother, who bestows her creative abundance on all who seek her blessings. This lunar mansion is ruled by the planet Jupiter, the great benefic.
The Sun does well in this constellation can create spiritual searching energy that can be unsettled as one is always questioning and is unsettled about spiritual matters. Still, the universal mothering and nurturing qualities of Purnarvasu will connect it to the Universal Mind in the desire to do service work and be involved in spiritual wisdom.
This constellation provides nourishment and nurturing before the tough storms of Ardra (Gemini 6.40-20.00) which the Sun completed the last two weeks in the constellation of Ardra. It creates contentment and grounding energy but sometimes lacks foresight which leads to complications and adventures. If you were born with the Sun, Moon, or Ascendant in this constellation, you have the qualities of a universal caregiver and are very generous.
The constellation is connected to the merchant caste and will support courage for business expansion during its transit with Sun in Gemini and should be good for the economy over the next few weeks and this still may allow the stock market to go higher. We are moving toward the completion of the Sun’s transit through the eastern hemisphere which marks the waxing and growth phase of business. As the Sun moves into Cancer on July 16th, it marks the beginning of the waning phase of the Sun as it moves through the western hemisphere and brings in more Shiva energy and it is generally not considered a good time to start a new business when the Sun transits from Cancer through Sagittarius until Makara Sankranti happens with the Sun goes into Capricorn on Jan. 14th.
MERCURY IN GEMINI: JULY 7-JULY 25TH
Mr. Quicksilver, the trickster, moves into Gemini on JULY 7 and goes to its home base re-kindling communication, writing, and intellectual inquiry. It is a clear transit once it moves out of Mars’ constellation of Mrigashira (Taurus 23.20-Gemini 6.40) where it promotes squabbles and mental conflicts and arguing because Mars is in Mercury’s constellation of Ashlesha (Cancer 16.40-29.59 until July 21st.
Firstly, Mercury moves into the star constellation of Mrigashira know by the West as Orion (Taurus 23.20-Gemini 6.40) known as the constellation of Orion, and stays there until July 11th and will channel Mars and this can lead to disputes so do not get into arguments while you are driving and find an outlet to release anger when things do not happen as quickly as you would like.
Still, Mercury in Gemini will promote writing and so spend some time with your journal if your mind is full of chatter and work through any inner disruptive thoughts. Great few months for writing your book, developing your blog, or getting out those YouTube Videos.
Virgos and Geminis will have mostly results from the transit with Mercury at home and will flourish with deep thought and wisdom during the transit into Purnavasu (Gemini 20-Cancer 3.20) July 21-27th, Mercury here can be drawn to spiritual wisdom and seeking deeper spiritual knowledge.
People in a Mercury dashas or sub-period will notice the complexity of this transit more as but still transits are 20% of timing and all is contextual to the larger cycles you are running.
