EYE ON THE SKY:  SUN IN CAPRICORN: JANUARY 14 – FEBRUARY 12
Sun enters Capricorn: January 14th
The Sun moves into Capricorn on January 14th, just as Saturn is leaving on Jan. 17th. It is a mixed transit and while the Sun does well with work, it is still in an enemies sign and it can create friction with government and bosses and father/son relationships and can negatively impact health. Still the period from Jan. 21-25 is auspicious in the constellation of Abhijit (approx. Capricorn 6.40-11.13) where the blessings of Lord Brahma and great success can manifest.
That is because there is a hidden constellation in the zodiac called Abhijit (located at 6.40-11.13 Capricorn) which is considered one of the most auspicious stars and is the mysterious 28th nakshatra of the zodiac. In Western astronomical traditions, it is known as Vega and the Sun transits through there for 5 days Jan. 21-25th.
Komilla Sutton notes that Abhijit means victorious and conquering completely and is connected to Brahma, the creator, and also to Vishnu the preserver. It is a star where the individual can write their destiny. One can preserve the old and create something new. This constellation is very powerful and gives one spiritual drive and the ability to want to win regardless of circumstances. It is ruled by the Sun and it supports leadership during its transit in the constellation Jan 20th in the afternoon until January 25th.
Saturn and Sun are enemies and the Sun still feels constricted in Capricorn and which can contribute to health issues for Leos with this 6th house transit and Capricorns are also vulnerable. Starting on Jan. 30th, Saturn is combusted by the Sun for about 5 weeks. The combustion of Saturn is where it is hidden behind the Sun and not visible in the night sky is also problematic for about 5 weeks.
Usually, the Sun moving into Capricorn is considered auspicious for starting a new business.
The Sun is afflicted in Capricorn and one may feel that one has not done enough, overworks, and this can create self-centered energy and skepticism, and lack of humor. It may lead to poor circulation, cold hands and feet, and problems with the adrenals. This is a 6th house transit for Leos but the affliction may create too much fire energy or pitta so stay patient and cool down with coconut water. Be careful about getting into too much debt.
Aries rising does well the first few weeks of this transit with a 10th house transit of the Sun for recognition and possible promotion at work if other factors are present in your main dashas. Scorpios also do well in this transit as it is a 3rd house transit of the Sun promoting courage to move through challenges connected to work.  Aquarius rising may have the most trouble with this transit as it is a 12th house transit of the Sun and could lead to loss of status or having a difficult time with relationships at work or bringing up self-esteem issues.   Remember to be humble at work and not fight with your boss.
Remember all transits are secondary to dashas and impact people in different ways. If you are running a Saturn/Sun or Sun/Saturn period you will be impacted by this transit more and if you are Leo, Capricorn or Aquarius Rising, or Moon sign you may notice it more. Also depending on how many Ashtakavarga points you have in Capricorn for the Sun, it will impact you differently. As always, consult professional Vedic astrology proper forecasts.
