ASTROLOGICAL SUMMER PREVIEW 2023
Many of us are planning our summer vacations and so it’s time to see what is happening in the stars for the summer and how can maximize our plans.
June is a difficult month as Mars stays in Cancer the entire month where deep fatigue and irritation dominate. While that is a natural time to rest and go on vacation—particularly for Aries and Scorpio rising, usually we want to run around and do stuff and that will not work well in June. Find time to do a meditation retreat and take just time off and not run around too much.Â
Compounding June is the Saturn station and retrograde into June 17th. Saturn tends to create more anxiety a week before that happens starting on June 9th and that continues into June 23rd for a week afterwards. Saturn retrograde which runs into Nov. 4th is usually a more difficult time when suffering and challenges increase.  During this time, Saturn throws a 60-degree sextile onto Jupiter which is exact on June 19th. While this aspect is good for manifesting material desires, it may create too much anxiety for Sagittarius and Pisces rising.Â
Mercury is Combust in direct motion  between June 18-July 13th and this can create a bit of nervous energy and a buzzy and busy mind but is probably the most difficult around June 29-July 3rd as Mercury is always close to the sun and has lots of suntan lotion.Â
July looks better as Mars is getting more energy in Leo for status and success and energy levels are better for running around. Still, the Mars /Saturn opposition into July 20th can increase anxiety and frustration and increase irritation but if you are on vacation, you may better be able to deal with it.
Venus is in Leo in July and gets stronger as it goes retrograde on July 22nd-Sept. 3rd. Retrograde benefits are more powerful to create fun and strong relationship. Jupiter is in Bharani nakshatra after June 21st into the fall and this will amplify Venus’s energy and increase sensual desires and fun and play and increase spending.Â
Mars goes into Virgo on August 18-Oct. 3rd . Whenever a planet appears in Virgo in any sign of the zodiac it means where we need to be better, improve or be pure.  Being the natural 6th house of the zodiac, it means that we need discipline around regular work, health, and diet to prevent illness and we also need to develop skills to work with people so that we do not develop enmity with co-workers at work. There can be too much self-deprecation and continual beating oneself up on the dark side or a continual focus on always wanting to do it better which can also become a good quality.  Key words to remember are purity and improvement.
Virgo is an enemies sign because Mars is an active planet and does well by just “doing” and gets slowed down by thinking and being too strategic. Watch out for an over-active mind, aggressive thinking, not being able to stop when attacking others verbally, impatience, and combative relationships.
Jupiter goes stationary Retrograde at 21 Aries on Sept. 4th and stays retrograde until the end of the year on Dec. 30th. While there are some problems with retrograde Jupiter, it will be more powerful in the fall and Rahu will stop pestering it in the fall when it moves out of Aries into Pisces on Nov. 29th in the true node system and Oct 31st in the mean node system.Â
