EYE ON THE SKY: NEPTUNE STATIONARY DIRECT ON DEC. 6th
As a Neo-Vedic astrologer, I do think that the outer planets are important from years of observing their impact on the world. Stationary planets are very powerful and exert much more force a few weeks before and after around their station. Neptune will have that impact the week of Dec 1 and through Dec. 9th It is going stationary around 0.42 Pisces so if you have any key planets or your ascendant there or at 0-1 degrees Virgo or 0-1 degrees Gemini or 001 degrees Sagittarius, you may feel a stronger impact.
Neptune causes life to become confusing and unclear and people believe what is not true. It is a planet of deception. It can have an ego-denying influence which can make you feel discouraged, undeserving, and futile.
Neptune is considered a malefic as it dissolves what Saturn is trying to create in reality. Hence it may lead to addictive behavior rather than being responsible. At its worst, it can create an addictive crash leaving you lost, confused, or defeated. At its best, it can expand your connection with the infinite and create spiritual art. Be careful with addictive habits for the next few weeks. Fantasies may take you off the path of getting to your goal and rob you of your energy like the Sirens tempting Odysseus. Good time for a spiritual or meditation retreat with this energy so high.
Neptune is at home in the natural 12th house of the zodiac in Pisces. Neptune seeks to unify all things and mend our differences with the divisions on our planet. It can create a utopian desire to heal the planet collectively through spiritual practices and utopian movements that seek to heal our divided world. The problem with Neptune is that it creates a great deal of confusion. You may seek to escape this troubling world through spiritual by-passing or if not on a spiritual path through drugs and alcohol to seek letting go and merging.
While the outer planets are not a traditional part of Vedic astrology, I find them important for understanding collective behavior and if they impact sensitive points in your chart within 2 degrees by transit or in your natal chart, they can be rather impactful. As Dennis Harness has discussed, Narendra Desai saw an ancient Vasistha Nadi palm leaf in a museum in Madras, India, which predicted that three important grahas or planets would be discovered by the Jyotish of the Kali Yuga. The great seer Vasistha was the author of several hymns in the Rg Veda (dated 3000 BC) and was considered a great priest of the kings. According to the ancient palm leaf, the names of the grahas or planets would be Prajapati, Varuna, and Yama. The middle one, Varuna is known today as Neptune.
“Varuna is the lord of the cosmic waters and is associated with the mysterious laws of fate. He is a powerful, mystical healer and is the lord of Maya or illusion. Varuna is the bestower of spiritual wisdom and the god of cosmic medicine. In the early cycles of Creation, all the gods together approached Varuna and said to him: “May you accept the lordship of all waters on earth and protect us all. May you ever dwell in the ocean, the refuge of the aquatic creatures. The great ocean, the husband to all the rivers and streams, would thus remain subservient to you. You would swell and shrink along with the Moon”.4 This sounds strikingly similar to the role and meaning of Neptune, god of the mystical seas, in modern tropical astrology.”
Whatever house Neptune is transiting in Pisces now may impact that area of your life. So if you are Aquarius rising and thus Neptune is going through your 2nd house, you would be impacted by speculative gambling around money or be impacted by addictive food or drink habits. Neptune will most influence Virgo also so whatever house is connected to Leo will be indicated.
So observe your reaction to Neptune/Varuna next week. Realize that all of this will pass. The intense emotion of this trine is churning up all kinds of intense fear in the world as it is happening in the constellation of Purva Bhadrapada (Aquarius 20-Pisces 3.20 ) which is connected to Jupiter but also to the deep state and secret and dark sexual energies. In mundane astrology, we may even see even more smoke and mirrors in the world around the bizarre political landscape we are in.
Avoid bad habits and sexual additions and use this higher octave of Venus to create great art, write a poem or story, or compose a spiritual piece of music.
