EYE ON THE SKY: VENUS CONJUNCT THE SUN

The Venus conjunction with the Sun is this week and is a climax of a long journey into June 4th.  Libra and Taurus will have a complex array of exhaustion, spiritual initiation, climaxes in relationship tensions, shopping addiction energy, emotional fragility and a sense of deep beauty.  The good news, is that the completion of the cycle will lead to a gradual improvement in relationship tensions and other Venus issues.  

I learn a lot from my Western astrological friends. While combustion is one of the most damaging things for a planet in Vedic astrology, it turns out total combustion within a degree degree is a blessing. Venus will be exactly conjunct the Sun within a degree June 1-7^th

The exact conjunction of the Sun with Venus on June 4^th  can be a really good thing and is called cazimi and comes from medieval astrology and it used to refer to planets that are so close to a conjunction with the Sun that they are “in the heart” of the Sun. They actually become energized by the Sun and their most positive qualities come out. This will be a positive for June 1-7^th  . An example of cazimi is Oprah Winfrey who has a cazimi, Venus, in her natal chart; it has made her an incredible star to women and brought out her acting and relationship abilities with the public to a pinnacle.

Venus Cazimi should be a great period for creativity, artistic development, and love. It may increase socializing, luxuriating, going out for fun and amusement. If you are a woman, it may create incredible magnetism and make you Queen for a day and you will attract men more easily. Good day to hit the drawing board if you are an artist.

REVIEWING VENUS COMBUSTION:

Venus is combust by the Sun which means it is not visible in the sky and hidden from view April 27-July 10. This will occur in the signs of  Aries, Taurus, Gemini and into Cancer.   Venus is considered to combust within 10 degrees of the Sun and can raise jealous issues so remember to praise others and appreciate others at this time and help them and applaud their success and good fortune. Venus is the karaka or symbol for marriage and relationship and when the Sun gets too close it can cause relationship problems, strong passions, and fighting if one is not willing to give up one’s position. The Sun likes to stay entrenched in his ego and has to learn how to say yes and bend to make harmony work. We last saw the conjunction of Venus and the Sun in the Sign of Taurus in early July 2016.   

This energy would normally create strong passionate expression and artistic creative energies for artists but afflictions can lead to major relationship outbursts. If the sexual/creative energy is not allowed to express itself it can lead to major conflicts. The best outlet for frustrated energy would be to do some wild dancing, take a craft class, sing loudly with the radio turned up, or go on a wild shopping spree or create a massive artistic dinner with friends that you are not likely to get into fights with.

The exact conjunction is June 4 and the planets will be within 3 degrees of each other May 27-June 17^th which is the more intense period. Venus/Sun connections can also lead to manipulative energy in relationships and cause annoyances and friction and problems so remember to accept people with all their imperfections or you will likely be seething with anger. Take care of your reproductive organs as problems can happen during this transit. If you are feeling friction, take a walk and get out of the house rather than get into a battle with your partner.

Taurus and Libra rising signs in Vedic astrology will feel this combustion most and need to get extra rest and not burn the candle at both ends and they may experience intense fatigue. So plan on extra rest from late May to mid-June and watch over-eating or zoning out watching too many movies or you will get exhausted.
