THIS WEEK’S EMOTIONAL GRUNGE ALERT THROUGH AUGUST 5

EYE ON THE SKY:  DEALING WITH EMOTIONAL GRUNGE 

Intensity this week through August 5th

There are a number of challenges in the stars this week which can bring up an extra dash of emotional turmoil and frustration and anxiety.

Firstly, Venus is changing signs on July 30-31 and is going through the emotionally knotted area known as the Gandanta  (Cancer 29.00) where deep unconscious and emotional patterns are difficult to grasp and unravel. It is a time to let go of emotional attachments and entanglements and free yourself for the firepower of Leo that wants to act and move forward and create.  

Secondly, Saturn, Mars, and Ketu will be conjunct in Taurus Navamsha in the D9 chart August 1-5th and Venus will join them for a few day August 3-5th. Saturn/Ketu have been conjunct for a while and this can create repressed anger that can explode at anytime.  Add Mars there on August 1st and violence and rioting and can erupt and you get a sense that Venezuela will get much worse as we move into the weekend.  Venus will try to calm things down August 3-5th but it will create messy and volatile relationship squabbles.   This is happening in the D9 chart and that can increase mental and emotional inner  turmoil that then explodes into the manifest level.

Thirdly, Retrograde Saturn continues to be the big Elephant in the room.  It tends to create more pain, suffering and anxiety for certain rising signs and because it is aspecting Aries, Leo and Scorpio, it is impacting those signs the most and Aquarius benefits the most as the chart lord in its own sign strengthens it.  you have retrograde Saturn in your natal chart, it gets triggered in transit.   A retrograde Saturn in a natal chart often represents the neglect of responsibilities.  The house that is in the natal chart will clue you into the areas you need to work on.  So a natal retrograde Saturn in the 2nd may give lessons around saving, food, and responsibility around family care.   Saturn retrograde forces us to be more honest with ourselves and not get got up in fantasy and responsibility for what is not working in our life.

Retrograde planets are brighter and closer to the Earth. So, they are focused on the past, the disappointments, and the abuses they suffered. This makes them look within and they become confused about moving forward but they don’t want to go back so this creates a situation of deep introspection. So, this creates a planetary influence of thinking rather than doing what happens according to the retrograde planet. For example, if Saturn is retrograde, one may ponder a lot about spirituality but only in the reflective sense rather than practicing it.

In the world we are bombarded media fears  with talk of World War 3, the loss of democracy and the dividing of our nation. Venezuela has already exploded and is moving into civil war over a potential fraudulent election and we are waiting for Israel and Lebanon to increase tension and move into war.

Do we go into a bomb shelter? Most of the world will have a few drinks, take some drugs, smoke a pack of cigarettes, or eat themselves into a numbed-out stupor.  That can work for a bit but it is destructive and takes you out of your deepest being.  People on a spiritual path binge-watch Netflix or over-eat themselves into a stupor.

Why are we so afraid of our emotions?  We have to remember that they are not real and they change quickly and we have to do enough meditation and yoga to witness our mind so that we can be free.  Those of us on a spiritual path have to go through them. Feel them deeply. The process of feeling them can facilitate their deep release. What are we afraid of? Are we those stupid feelings or something bigger?  Go deep into them and the attention of your consciousness will facilitate their release.  Feel the depth of these emotions with your full consciousness and you can help

We can always do a bit of spiritual or astrological bypassing and that can help with meditation too but remember you are so much bigger than your emotions. If a storm is happening,  be Billy Buddy in Herman Melville’s classic.  Strap yourself to the mast and go through it. In the end, you will find that your eternal Self is so much bigger than a few waves you are the waves and you are the ocean.  How can you be afraid of the very water that you are made of?    Stay strapped to the mast, whatever storms come, say, I am here and let them come through me.  How can we run away from a tiny emotion?  What power can it have over us?

Don’t the storms make you deeper and a more powerful person? Embrace them? Realize that you are unchanging and nothing can touch you. You are invincible. Merge with the water and become One. The ocean and the waves are One.

So if you are not able to do that you can always do the following:

1) This is a time to be disciplined about your meditation practice and yoga and other spiritual practices because these lighten the burden and give us more strength to deal with everything. The tendency is to skip that which is good for us when we are challenged but that’s like taking off a winter coat when it’s below zero.

2) Donate time and money to help those in need. This is one way to address karma and by getting out of our stuff, we feel better and move through our karma.

3) Be disciplined with diet and exercise. The tendency is to use food to cover up difficult emotions or skip exercise because we feel tired or lazy. So much illness (6th house) can be overcome if we are disciplined in doing what is good for us. Avoid addictive behaviors and non-life-supporting actions especially now. The tendency is to what to escape but usually this leads to more difficult problems quickly. Maybe not stay up until 2 am watching 10 episodes on Netflix and get some extra rest.

4) Spend time with spiritual knowledge, attend spiritual gatherings, and hang around with positive people at this time.

5) Do transformational healing work to move through these energies.

This current phase will lighten up a bit after August 5th  but Saturn moves into Aries Navamsha August 19th-Oct 3rd and that will increase anxieties.
