RAHU INTO PURVABHADRAPADA/ PEGASUS AQUARIUS 20.00-PISCES 3.20

RAHU IN PURVABHADRA PADA:  FEB –DEC. 2025

Feb. 23-Dec. 2, 2025 True Node

Feb. 16- Nov. 23, 2025 Mean Node

We have a fascinating long transit this year starting at the end of the month with Rahu retrograding through the constellation of Purvabhadrapada Nakshatra (Aquarius 20-Pisces 3.20)

The symbol of this very complex constellation owned by Jupiter is the two-faced man and his ability to cut through negativity to get to the truth. The two-faced man indicates the ability to see both sides of an issue. The Shakti is “the power to raise a spiritual person in life” and is successful in business due to motivation toward artha or prosperity.

The deity is Aja Ekapada, the “unborn one-footed goat,” a form of Rudra, the ancient fire dragon. He is considered the mount of Lord Agni (the God of Fire), representing fire’s cleansing spiritual power. Aja Ekapada is the unicorn related to Rudra, the God of Storms.

Astronomically, Purva Bhadrapada consists of two main stars in the body of Pegasus (the Winged Horse). Markab and Scheat: Markab is a star of honors and success with great sorrow. Scheat gives literary and poetic ability with extreme misfortune.

Pegasus is a transformational nakshatra in which the natives may sacrifice themselves or a higher cause to make a difference. Purva Bhadra grants a universal view through internal purification. This raises our spiritual aspirations in life and takes us out of the domain of selfish behavior, so sacrifice is a key theme here for success.

This nakshatra is also connected with emergency rooms in hospitals and sitting and caring for dying people. With Saturn going through this nakshatra on Apr. 28, unfortunately, this may be a theme for the next few months, and I am already experiencing it.

In early April, the huge cluster of planets—Venus, Saturn, Rahu, and Mercury—will be in Pada 4 conjunct.

If you were born with key planets or your ascendant or moon in this constellation, it could represent a person who is devoted to god, meets with unexpected success, and may get wealth unexpectedly in old age.  Still, if Jupiter is afflicted, they can be fearful, nervous, angry, and cynical.  Their lives are sometimes filled with sadness and problems.

I often refer to this constellation as the Jekyll and Mr. Hyde constellation. It represents a two-faced man who may appear pure but may be diabolical inside if Jupiter is afflicted.  The darker side can bring out paranoia, pessimism, debauchery, violence, thirst for the macabre, deceit, and cruelty.  Ultimately, if the dark side manifests, the soul’s purpose is to transform the darkness into light. I often think of this place for the pedophile priest who has to transform his life, with Jupiter being the significator for a priest.    This is the most intense nakshatra that must learn humility and transcending ego.   These individuals tend to be sincere, hard-working, and will do anything to achieve their objectives.

The key is transformation, as this constellation represents a bridge between the consciousness on the material and non-material planets.  If successful, it can move through the blocks of darkness and rise in evolutionary consciousness.

If you were born with Rahu in this constellation, it can create a religious zealot and one who is into the mystical and the occult.  The darker side may emerge with the conjunction of Saturn in transit into early April, bringing out the Dr. Hyde energy capable of violence due to a warped belief structure. Considering the craziness in D.C., we worry about what early April will bring.

Rahu luckily does better here until late May on the Pisces side but still may suffer from abuse.  Beware of know-it-all qualities coming out, and beware of new cult leaders emerging.

The key to this transit is that Rahu must muster the courage to change the course of the soul’s life and learn sacrifice and unconditional service.

Rahu in Pada 4 on the Pisces side can do better with accepting the Divine path but struggles in the other padas, so the transit is more problematic after May 29, when Rahu moves into Aquarius in the true node system.

Famous people with Rahu in this constellation include the French poet  Charles Baudelaire, born 4/9/1821   at 15:00  in Paris, France.  He was a renowned sex addict often, visited prostitutes and was addicted to opium.  We have to worry that Rahu in Aquarius in this constellation from late May to early December will lead to more addiction coming out as people try to cope with the stress of life and all the changes in the world.

I want to give special thanks to Komilla Sutton, Prash Trevedi, Michael Santangelo, and Jade Sol Luna for their insights on this constellation.
