EYE ON THE SKY: MERCURY RETROGRADE IN AQUARIUS/CAPRICORN JAN. 30-FEB. 20
Everyone cringes at the thought of Mercury retrograde but it is not bad for everyone and gets a lot of bad press. You all know about Mercury retrograde so I wanted to share some new things. First of all, if you were born with Mercury retrograde, you are more right-brain orientated and have more spatial orientation and recognize patterns and are not logical. It will be interesting to observe if during Mercury retrograde you need to be more intuitive rather than logical during the transit.
Secondary, Mercury retrograde is not bad for every rising sign. It is most difficult for the rising signs of Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Sagittarius due to house ownership involving the 6, 8, 12, and even the 7th house ruler. It actually makes Virgos and Geminis stronger in their physical body but maybe more inward.
This Winter’s Mercury Retrograde is happening in Capricorn mainly as it retrogrades from Aquarius into Capricorn on Feb. 4th. The Mercury/Saturn connection can create restricted thinking and can lead to obsession and losing sight of the big picture getting caught in pettiness and feeling trapped in daily routines and bringing up doubt and loneliness. Mercury retrogrades back to about 16 degrees Capricorn into Feb. 20th and then does not go back to Aquarius until March 11th. It becomes part of the complicated stellium in Capricorn and is conjunct Venus into Feb. 13th promoting, writing, and song-writing and stays pretty close to Jupiter until its conjunction on March 4th and this often can create problems with relationships because of house ownership but can lead to clear writing. It gets trined by Rahu into Feb. 11th and March 3rd. Rahu in transit is strong in Taurus so there is a lot of great interaction between Mercury, Rahu, and Venus this may promote creative writing and computer programming.
Mercury transits from the rising sign or the moon are considered good when they are 2, 4, 6, 8, or 10th or 11 houses from the moon or rising sign. Hence if your rising sign or moon is Sagittarius or Pisces or Libra or Leo or Gemini it is considered a good transit. It will be channeling the difficult energy of Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn and getting trined by Rahu so I suspect it will feel like a difficult Mercury transit for many so back up your computers and protect them.
So like always, back up your computers early, get your letters and marketing and business dealings done early today, be redundant about communications, and do not assume that your emails and phone messages and texts will get picked up. Most of all, be patient as Mercury is like the Greek god of Hermes and he wants you to laugh when these things do not go right. He is the trickster, so smile and accept and be patient and know it will be over by Feb. 20th. For some, those 22 days will seem like forever so smile!! Mercury goes stationary direct at 10:52 am on Jan.30th and will be powerful in the sky with Gemini rising and Virgo benefiting most.
