VENUS IN CANCER: MAY 30-JULY 6 and August 8-Oct 1st
Venus enters Cancer on May 30  which is one of the better events of the month. Because it goes retrograde July 22nd at Leo 4 degrees, it will go back into Cancer for a long time and be there August 8-Oct 1st in the more difficult constellation of Ashlesha.
Venus and the Moon are friends although the Moon likes everyone and Venus is not as happy with the moon. The darker side of this transit may come out with Mars in Cancer this month as it could lead to being overly emotional, indulgent, full of sorrow for the world, ups and downs in emotions. This may be felt more in the first week as Venus moves toward an opposition with Pluto.

While the two are friends, Saturn and Venus combinations can create love with restrictions, emotional dryness, detachment or love of older people, and strong business abilities. Still, Venus can get frustrated with love and passion because it has too many responsibilities. The constellation of Pushya is one of the most auspicious ones for deep spirituality and wisdom to come out. Pushya is connected to the deity Brihaspati who has the wisdom to advise the gods and is a rival to the devata, Shukracharya, the advisor to the material world.
Venus goes into the constellation of Ashlesha (Cancer 16.20-29.59) known as Hydrae in astronomy June 21-July 6th and July 22-Oct 1st where it is connected to Mercury. Venus gets debilitated in Virgo, so it is not happy to be in Mercury’s star where ugly and jealous gossip and sharp tongues can lead to angry battles between women. Relationships suffer here and can be angry or vicious or filled with controlling energies. Still, Venus can deal with the poisons of Ashlesha better than any other planet with its nurturing and healing qualities but has to move into selfless service to do so. The end of the Ashlesha (Cancer 26.40-29.59) July1-6th is the gandanta where karmic knots need to get untwisted by Venus is exalted here in the Pisces pada and can deal with it well.
