MERCURY IN CAPRICORN:
Mercury enters Capricorn:Â Feb 1-19TH
Mercury moves into Saturn’s sign of Capricorn Thursday, Feb. 1st, where hard work will pay-off with writing and communication projects. This transit is not that clean with  the Pluto conjunction on Feb. 5th which can be intense and Mercury goes combust on Feb. 8th-March 14th. Mars moves into Capricorn on Feb 5th but they end up about 9-10 degrees apart pretty quickly. Sun combusts Mercury start Feb. 8th but it will not have a real impact until they are 5-6 degrees by the end of the month and into March. Venus goes into Capricorn Feb 11th and that is a supportive influence for creative writing and song-writing particularly for Virgo Rising and Taurus.
The first part of the transit is in the constellation of Uttara Ashadaha, ruled by the Sun between until Feb 8th. This promotes the intellect and being practical.  It is in the auspicious constellation of Abhitji (Capricorn 6.40-11.17) from Feb. 6-9th where victory happens. The next constellation of Shravana (Capricorn 10-23.20) Feb. 9-26th which is more problematic as Mercury is more uncomfortable with the Moon’s more feeling nature of connection with others, even though this will bring material success. Thankfully, Mercury flourishes in this satvic constellation when Mercury is particularly strong and understands using the intellect for the good of others and to develop spiritual wisdom. The last part of the transit in Dhanishta Feb 16-23 is more problematic is Mercury/Mars connections create combative arguing but may support technical endeavors if you can get through the latent Capricorn energy that slows things down.
 Mercury and Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, are friends and it is a 5th house transit for Virgos bringing more joy with children, romance and spiritual initiations and sports and given Mercury’s nature, game nights and word games and crosswords might flourish. Gemini rising has more problem with this 8th house transit and unexpected surprises connected to legal problems, health issues could arise. Libras and Taurus rising probably benefit more than Leos, Cancers or Scorpio rising or moon signs.
Mercury conjuct Pluto on Feb. 5th can cause intense mental activity and there may be intensity in your speech and writing. You may have a strong desire to get to the bottom of core problems and issues. It’s a good time for research and solving deep mysteries.  Be careful trying to bowl people over with arguments; you could easily create angry eruptions. The transit is very quick but may feel very intense for Gemini Rising due to it being the chart lord and a time for deep transformation through deep thinking.
